The following is a listing of classes we have held in the past.

NOW YOU CAN PAY ONLINE FOR YOUR CLASSES through PayPal.
Click on the "Class Fee" Button to proceed. Half the class price is a Non-Refundable Deposit. A Partial Refund is given if a student cancels two or more weeks ahead of class date notice.  If the student cancels in less than two weeks, they will not get a refund.  All Students need to sign a waiver.

Blacksmithing has a long and very interesting history from the early days of horseshoeing to being “Under the Spreading Chestnut Tree” come and learn the basics that you can learn in a two-day class. No, you won’t be a blacksmith when the class is over but you will have ample opportunity to see if this hobby is for you without the financial investment of a blacksmith shop. Students must be at least 16 years of age to participate with Parent/Guardian on site.  Class size limited to 10.

Basic Chain Mail

During the time that fighting men wore Chain mail it was the best protection against cuts and slashes. The most popular pattern was the English 4 in 1 pattern. Learn the basics of making chain mail, and you too could be next person to make armor for your self or friends. The mandrel for making rings is included in the price. Class size limited to 6.  $70

Chain Mail Jewelry    
Making

Whereas chain mail was used to make armor for several hundred years, clever artisans figured out how to make jewelry out of the steel rings.  This class will teach you how to make several of the ornamental ring mail patterns. You are required to have taken the Beginning Chain Mail class or know the basics of the chain mail process.  .     Cost of Class $30.00

           Horse

This class will build a portable shaving horse (Older style vise for wood) made after an English design.  They were first introduced in the late Medieval to early Renaissance period. You will be making this horse out of conventional construction  materials and all materials are included.  There will be a few draw knifes for sale to the students.  If you have a circular saw and drills, please bring them. Cost of Class $80.00.

    KC RenFest

Spinning wool into yarn or thread was once a daily chore.  I find spinning a rewarding and relaxing experience.  You will be introduced to the spinning process using a drop spindle and a spinning wheel.  Various types of fiber will be sampled during this class.  A drop spindle is included.

Turning Green Wood on a Lathe

This class will be using a Spring Pole Lathe and a Treadle Lathe.  Even if you have never turned on a lathe, or you are a wood turner, you will learn the differance in turning green wood.   Class size limited to 4. Class fee: $40

Beginning Leather Work

Beginning Leather Work
The class will give you the knowledge of the history and techniques for leather working. You will have 3 projects, a rabbit pouch, a Scottish pouch, and a sail-mans needle pouch. These projects will teach the patterns and stitches that are required for leather working. All tools will be provided.

For those of you who have completed the basic blacksmith class, here is an opportunity to hone the skills and imagination in this two day class. You must have taken the Basic Blacksmithing class to qualify for this class. Students must be at least 16 years of age to participate with Parent/Guardian on site.   Class size limited to 10.  Cost   $150

 Tablet Weaving Double Face

Tablet (Card) Weaving Double Face is a relaxed, hands-on workshop for those who have taken the  basic tablet weaving class.  The loom rental and all supplies will be included in the class price. Class size limited 6.
